What are Premium Workshops?

These workshops offer hands on learning with materials from expert cosplayers! Slots are limited, materials are provided, and take what you make home!

Note: You must be Registered for Cosplay America to purchase a ticket for a Premium Workshop!

The Art of Destruction: Distressing Clothes to Tell a Tale – $10

You’re shipwrecked on an island, constantly on the run for your own safety, and tackling dangerous platformer puzzles in an outfit that absolutely refuses to get dirty or tear. Yeah, we’ve all been there, but worry not! Donttouchmymilk Cosplay walks you through the process of strategically ruining a shirt to properly reflect your war with cleanliness as Lara (or Larry!) Croft.

Fabric Painting - Part 1 – $35 for 2-part workshop

What do you do when you can’t find the right plaids or flowery prints for your cosplay? This workshop places the brush in your hand and walks you through the basics of fabric painting. Note: Due to nature of the process, this is a two-part workshop and you will need to attend both sessions.
 

Vinyl Applique – Make a Luna Purse! – $25

Your purse is cute, but is it shoujo mascot cute? Learn how to apply and manipulate this wonderful and versatile fabric by creating your own “Sailor Moon Luna”-inspired miniature purse.

Puppet Rigging – $25

As costumes gets bigger, you might need to put some extra effort into making them move. Jenny Barclay walks you through rigging up a costume finger and how to decorate around the constraints of your puppetry.
 

Latex Molding and Casting - Part 1 – $40 for 2-part Workshop
10:00am-12:00 pm Saturday | Workshop

Have you ever wanted to add details to your costume that are firm and solid, but flexible enough to sew directly into the fabric? Jenny Barclay walks you through casting your own latex elements with a stone mold. Note: Due to nature of the process, this is a two-part workshop and you will need to attend both sessions. We will be working with latex, so do not attend if you have an allergy.
 

Making Membrane Wings – $30

We've all seen angel wings, but what if you're going for something a bit darker? Bat wings, dragon wings, and devil wings all have their own thickness and durability considerations. Jenny Barclay helps you build your own pair of wearable wings.

Weather you're the hero of legend or the NPC guarding the gate, you're going to want to wear something snazzy, firm, and ideally not very heavy. Jenny Barclay walks you through building wearable armor forged out of foam.

How do you find the perfect jewels to complete your costume without taking out insurance on your outfit? You make them, of course! Reika walks you through creating your own UV resin costume gems.

TaeYeon

Forged of Foam: Chopper Crown – $35
4:00-6:00 pm Saturday | Workshop

Props and armor can get pretty heavy, but they don’t always have to be. By building with foam, you can create amazing looking weapons, outfits, and accessories without spending the rest of your time lifting weights to sustain them. Tae Yeon will walk you through building your own prop crown with craft foam.
