Corsets are a mainstay in everything from period costuming to modern heroics, but there’s more to it than bones and bows. Cowbutt Crunchies outline the processes of corsetry, provide samples for comparison, and tackle the all-important criteria for proper fitting.

You’re interested in upping your photography game, but where do you begin? We’ll discuss some of the basics for newcomers to the world of cosplay photography.

Learn how to use galvanic etching to create designs on metal! You will design and make your own etchings using brass blanks, a salt, and a bench-top power supply.

Some characters just can’t catch a break and their cosplayers have to portray their battle damage. Join Jenny Barclay for a social meet up and makeup gathering where she’ll demonstrate makeup techniques for blood, gore, and dirt effects on volunteers. We encourage you to stick around for a group photo at the end.
Note: this workshop will get messy, so please consider the safety of your costume when volunteering. We will be working with latex, so do not volunteer if you have an allergy.

What do you do when you can’t find the right plaids or flowery prints for your cosplay? This workshop places the brush in your hand and walks you through the basics of fabric painting.

Bring your party games, charge up your mobile phone, and stay up late with us as we kick back and enjoy a chill alternative to the dance. Kigurumis and pajamas are encouraged, but not required! By building with foam, you can create amazing looking weapons, outfits, and accessories without spending the rest of your time lifting weights to sustain them. Big props are awesome, but that doesn’t make them easy to travel with. If you’re going to go big, you need to be able to break down and reassemble your props if you plan to get it into your car, much less through international travel.
